Obtaining the Driving License

Your license is the final step to getting on the road.

Key Points:

  1. Learner’s License (LL): Apply on the Parivahan Sarathi website and pass the online theory test.
  2. Permanent License (DL): You can apply 30 days after getting your LL.
  3. The Practical Test: You must bring your own modified vehicle to the RTO for the driving test. You cannot use a regular car from a driving school.
  4. Exempted FASTag: Once you have your DL and your "Adapted Vehicle" RC, apply for an Exempted FASTag on the IHMCL portal. This allows you to pass through highway tolls for free across India.
